Life Sciences Dinner
We were pleased to host the latest in our series of Life Sciences Dinners, in partnership with Taylor Wessing and Panmure Liberum Cambridge Capital.
Participatory discussion centred around the current fundraising environment for life sciences companies. As we move into the last quarter of the year with green shoots very definitely emerging, we discussed some of the key themes that currently prevail in the market.
Thank you to our two guest speakers, Lucy Edwardes-Jones, Investor at BGF and Oliver Hardick, Entrepreneur in Residence at M Ventures.
Lucy is an Investor on the early stage investment team in London. Lucy’s main role is to source and execute investments, with a particular focus on earlier stage and life science opportunities. Prior to BGF, Lucy spent five years at CIL Management Consultants where she conducted strategy and commercial due diligence projects in the healthcare and life sciences sectors.
Oliver is a successful tech entrepreneur with core expertise in the bioprocessing field, and interest more broadly in life sciences & manufacturing technologies. Completing his Engineering Doctorate at UCL 2012, he moved into the entrepreneurial world founding Puridify, a biotech tools company, in 2013 based on his academic research. He led this as CEO through VC funding to a strong exit by GE Healthcare in 2017, interacting with biotherapeutic manufacturers globally throughout this journey.
Lucy and Oliver shared their thoughts on recent deals, their area of focus and what investment opportunities they are looking for, prompting lively discussion from the CEOs around the table.
Attendance at these events are by invitation. If you are a CEO of a growth Life Sciences business and would like to find out more about future events, please contact Zoe Robson.
