The next Private Markets Dinner will take place in the Morning Room and Members’ Dining Room in the historic surroundings of The Jockey Club Rooms, Newmarket. Attendance is by invitation for a select group of business leaders from amongst the region’s foremost family firms.
Our guest speaker is Barry Chevallier Guild, Brand Ambassador – Aspall Cyder, who will talk about the process of family business undergoing a trade sale. Earlier this year the iconic cyder brand was acquired by Molson Coors, bringing together two companies with a passion for building extraordinary brands, and with similar family-oriented ownership structures. Since Clement Chevallier started crafting cyder at Aspall Hall in 1728 the “pip to pour” family business has thrived, with the eighth generation of the family now planting apple trees on the estate, continuing the tradition of pressing, fermenting, kegging and bottling that has flourished through most of modern history. Barry will share his thoughts on the reality of a family business preparing for and undergoing acquisition.
