Guest speakers are:
Dr Annalisa Jenkins, a life sciences thought leader with over 25 years of global pharmaceutical industry experience. CEO of PlaqueTec, Annalisa previously served as CEO & President of Dimension Therapeutics, a leading gene therapy company acquired by Ultragenyx last year. Prior leadership roles include Head of Global Research & Development and Executive Vice President Global Development & Medical at Merck Serono. Annalisa is Executive Chair of Vium, based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and of UK-based Silence Therapeutics plc, where she is also currently fulfilling the CEO role. She holds Non-Executive board roles with growth companies including Avrobio, iOX Therapeutics, Thrombolytic Science, Cocoon Biotech and Ardelyx.
Dr Mark Treherne, a seasoned CEO, founder and board member, with over 25 years of industrial R&D experience in the discovery and development of novel treatments for diseases with unmet needs. Following an early career at Pfizer, Mark founded Cambridge Drug Discovery in 1997 and served as CEO, leading the growth of the company to exit to BioFocus in 2001 for £28 million. Over the past 15 years, Mark has helped to raise over £150 million for various early-stage biotechnology companies and has served on the boards of 16 private and public companies. He is currently Chair of Talisman Therapeutics and NuVision, and CEO of Avilex Pharma.
Stephen Hamilton, a Partner at Mills & Reeve, assisting businesses in achieving their commercial objectives. Stephen focuses on corporate finance for companies and other commercial clients and has significant experience in advising in relation to capital markets (both main market and AIM) including fundraisings, IPOs, M&A and corporate restructurings. Recent work includes an £80m takeover offer, several AIM fundraisings, a £28m recommended takeover code offer structured as a scheme of arrangement, and AIM IPO for an advanced manufacturing company.
