Congratulations to innovative Cambridge company Bactest and Chief Executive, Professor Annie Brooking on winning the Telegraph Festival of Business SME of the Year award for 2014.
Annie has invented a simple, effective contamination testing device called the Speedy Breedy which works as a mini, portable laboratory, enabling tests to be run and interpreted in just hours on substances as varied as water, medicine, paint, donor organs, beer and ice cream.
Based in Cambridge, Bactest is a venture backed start-up whose cornerstone investor is the Low Carbon Innovation Fund (LCIF). The company has filed numerous patents on its two product lines Speedy Breedy and Shepherd.
